My daughter turned 10 in January, and she's totally excelling in all things performance and drama. She LOVES acting. She had a small role in an indie movie that shot in Indiana last year, filming at 6am before the sun came up. She's been in a couple plays, is in one right now, does drama at school in 3rd grade, is learning cello, and has become such a good singer. She's in choir at school, and in an outside-of-school choir that we pay for.
My wife manages a backstage (back page?) account for her to find jobs, and she's been fortunate this year to be in a full day shoot for social media videos for a hotel in downtown Chicago, that my son got to participate in too. Also got to do a commercial with other kids last week at a trampoline park.
It's just so much fun watching her pursue these things. Liberal arts, drama, symphony, marching band, choirs, performance clubs, etc. are all things our local high school does incredibly well. I can't imagine her in high school but I'm so excited to see her grow over the years and have all those fun opportunities available.
I think our local high school was named the #1 high school in Illinois for student clubs and such, seems like there's something for everyone. She's going to have a blast once she gets there.
