Minecraft is a fantastic game, and I can't wait 'til my kid's old enough so we can play it together. I haven't played it in years though, because a) I just don't play many computer games any more, and b) when I DID play, it was a masssssive time suck. Like, I'd lose entire days and nights to it.It's a world that you literally build around yourself and it can be very compelling... if you're into that sort of thing.
It's not a game for everyone, so I'd suggest watching some gameplay videos to see if it appeals*.
What I''d absolutely not suggest watching though, is the movie with Jack Black in it.
.
* or have a scan of a thread a certain-someone started about the game many years ago. The first video linked sort of gives a good indication of whats' on offer: https://www.qbn.com/topics/64278…
- i mist have put in hundreds of hours with my daughter on Minecraft, I would continue playing/building after she went to sleepYakuZoku
- Same here Nairn. I would find myself playing into the morning when I didn’t have kids, but now it’s a distant memory gaming :)monospaced
- But now my son just turned 7 and I think it’s time to show him and let him build. Such a great peaceful amazing game.monospaced
- I used to play with my son, it was so fun. I was into the building but my son was all about pvp, but we made it work, he was my body guard destroying mobsslappy
