    Never forget:

Trump’s most common negotiation tactic is to start with an outrageous claim, such as “Canada will be 51st state with Wayne Gretzky as governor” or “25% tariffs on everything”.

This moves the baseline of what might be considered acceptable in the direction that he wants. It’s a very simple psychological trick but Americans and others keep falling for it.

Trump is almost an idiot savant when it comes to sales. This is what we’ve all missed.

    • it moves the baseline into lunacy...neverscared
    • ... they are eating the dogs and cats baseline...neverscared
    • missed? What the fuck you talking about? this is been obvious for a decademonospaced
    • If we’re so smart mono, why does everyone keep falling for it
      ********
    • Eg: countries are literally rearranging their economic plans to respond to trump’s tariffs threat
      ********
    • why should the USA be paying CCP to adminstrate the Panama canal? A canal that the USA built which has given Panama so much prosperity.hotroddy

    • falling for it? smart? this isn’t about getting duped or smarts, he’s getting away with it because hr doesn’t care what anyone thinksmonospaced
    • Its policy. The only way to combat it is through official means, so don’t act like people are just ignoring it or missing something.monospaced
    • Why do you allow this behaviour from an elected government employee?
He is not a czar ffsake :))
He is a crazy old guy
      ********
    • From impeachments to Jan 6 committee, to lawsuits, campaign scrutiny, pure scandal and even losing the popular vote. He is being resisted.monospaced
    • Allow? What do you think hasn’t been done graf? We can’t simply NOT allow him to enact policy that people support.monospaced
    • Maybe in some places democracy is flexible and leaders can be curbed of their positions or elections can be done over. But not here.monospaced
    • Then you don't have a real democracy bro
      Oh wait
      ********
    • It’s a simple question. What isn’t be done that you think should be to stop him? And why do you think we’re just “allowing him”?monospaced
    • And what isn’t democratic about that? He won the election and has support from people and party. That IS democracy.monospaced
    • Someone tried to kill him. Is that what you’re implying?monospaced
    • Sure, he got voted, but you can't really govern like a king, through executive orders and do whatever you like.
Congress, Supreme Court, media should pressure
      ********
    • Anyway, we will have this discussion in 4 more years, we will draw a line and I will LOL about your "democracy" and his results
