Eric Adams explaining to the news about how the NYPD would spare no expense and give this case special treatment and then immediately realizing what he was admitting to and adding, “but we would do that for any New Yorker. We don’t give special treatment.” was a perfect example of another aspect to why people aren’t too upset about this murder.

Class divide is strong in America.

The CEO is highly compensated because of his leadership, direction and influence. But when push comes to shove, we allow him to hide behind “the system” as if he has no influence at all. He is just a victim of the system? Please. We’re not buying that. If he has no influence, why does the board need to pay him so much?

Some say, “any CEO would do the same.” But that’s flawed logic. No one who wouldn’t do the same wouldn’t get to be CEO.

Then, when he is murdered, we all have to watch our police force give his case extra treatment. While cops sit in the subway scrolling their phones, ignoring people. People report violent crime and are told by nypd that “we didn’t see it, there’s nothing we can do”.

    And so we don’t care.
