Tesla Model 3 ranked least reliable used EV
The TÜV has released its annual report for the months between July 2023 and June 2024, including ten electric vehicles. One of those was the Model 3, of which 14.2% failed the first inspection after three years with “significant defects” to suspension and braking components.
Other poor performers in the two-to-three group include the Skoda Scala (11.8%), and the BMW 5/6 Series in the four-to-five group.
On the other hand, well-put-together EVs include the Hyundai Kona Electric with a defect rate of 4% and first-generation Mini Cooper SE with 4.4%, followed by models including the Volkswagen ID.3 (5%), ID.4/ID.5 (5.9%), and Peugeot E-208 (6.4%).
