The sleeper narrative about J.D. Vance that Democrats aren't really exploiting yet isn't that he says stupid things but pointing out his connections to all kinds of weird and extreme people on the far right.

For instance Vance is big fan of this writer, Curtis Yarvin, who advocates for America becoming a monarchy and is on the far right but also admires the CCP.
Ever since the alt-right first appeared the "intellectual" wing of the American right has embraced a long list of crackpot ideas from white nationalism to eugenics to monarchism to neo-trad Catholic reactionaries and Vance is connected to pretty much all of it.
This person could become president -- all it would take is Donald Trump keeling over on the golf course one day. Does anyone feel confident that won't happen?
