It's going to be difficult to beat Trump but let's not be too pessimistic -- Kamala Harris isn't doing worse than Biden.
In the polls since the debate happened, on average she is behind Trump by one point according to this. Biden was only behind by two points but the difference is Kamala will be able to campaign, do interviews, talk etc. Also adding the VP is a big advantage.
