New poll shows Biden losing Virginia, a safe Democratic state, while at the same time other Democrats win by double digits.

Insisting Biden be the candidate in an election this important is like sending a kitten to fight WW3. Yes it's theoretically possible the kitten will emerged unscathed but it's still a really bad idea.

    • like last elections red wave? anything at this point of the election cycle is largely pundits flooding the field with skewed polls.jonny_quest_lives
    • How do you skew a poll where another Democrat is leading by over 10 points but Biden is losing the same state?yuekit
    • not even sure polling even works anymore campaigns know how to generate the polling data that will result in the meta-analysis outcome they wantjonny_quest_lives

    • I think the same backlash to inflation and cost of living that you're seeing around the world is hurting Biden... then on top of that the age issue.yuekit
    • https://drive.google… Poll info of ~800 peoplewhatthefunk
    • That's a pretty standard number for a state poll like this.yuekit
    • “This poll not very scientific so I’ll argue my own random opinion based on my feelings” lulz

    • Polls are shit

    • It's not like polling is totally meaningless, people have gone too far.yuekit
    • It is weird, no one knows anyone that actually participated in any of these polls....hydro74
    • There is very little money (or purpose really) in producing scientifically excellent polling

    • reading the poll data is comedy... 800 people 202 of which responded to a landline poll 607 answered their cell phonejonny_quest_lives
    • bit ccnfused they say 50% of the respondents were female versus 48% male but they have 422 Male respondents versus 377 fuzzy maths on that onejonny_quest_lives
    • 286 people claiming to be independent which outnumbers both R's and D's... seems sus. chalk that up to not wanting to disclose party affiliationjonny_quest_lives
    • 303 respondents over the age of 65... oookay next closest age group 45-55 with 114 respondents.. 190 split between 18-45jonny_quest_lives
    • "Are you of Hispanic or Spanish origin?" 742 Njonny_quest_lives
    • RRAC. Are you white, black, Asian, or of some other racial background? White-583 Black, African-American -106jonny_quest_lives
    • 800 people in Virginia 72% of which Identified as white with 52% of the sampling being over the age of 45 would vote for trump. I am shocked.jonny_quest_lives
    • 2012 Barack Obama had an approval rating of 42% just weeks before the 2012 election Mitt Romney had a 45% approval rating at the same time...jonny_quest_lives
    • Polls will almost always re-weigh the numbers to reflect the demographic makeup of society.yuekit
    • So yeah it's quite common for them to get a larger number of old people. But they then multiply this by the actual percentage of 65+... etc.yuekit
