Right-wingers love to complain about how Twitter briefly blocked access to the files from Hunter Biden's laptop, and they say this amounted to "election interference."

But that was only temporary, only involved Twitter and everyone found out about it anyway. You could always just go read the story on the sites like NY Post that reported it.

The Story Daniels story OTOH was completely censored. If voters had known about it it's entirely possible Trump would have lost the 2016 election (he only won by a margin of a few thousand votes in some states).

Without this (as in turns out, illegal deal) he did there might have never been a Trump presidency, and January 6th never would have never happened in the first place. So although what Trump was convicted of isn't the most serious, what he did in censoring the Stormy Daniels story was very consequential.

Anyway there isn't a provision in the law that says you don't charge a former president unless he committed a super serious crime. If Trump got caught shoplifting they should charge him for that. Hopefully the other cases will get a chance to play out.
