Picked these up on eBay from a seller in Japan a few weeks ago.
A manga re-telling of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, updated for the 21st century (Lynn Minmay and Hikaru Ichijo texting and doing selfies, for example, and Max Jenius starting his career out as a Destroid operator first and then becoming a Valkyrie pilot), and illustrated by the original series' character designer, Mikimoto Haruhiko.
The series started in 2009, but isn't finished yet and has been on hiatus for a while, so I doubt it will be finished, frankly. Also, I can't read Japanese (I've seen SDF Macross and its sequels so many times, though, that I kind of don't need to read Japanese, the plot doesn't seem to have changed at all). But, wow, the artwork is sublime.Then again, I expect nothing less from Mikimoto-sensei, he's an absolute legend.
