    My routine for regular healthy sleep:

    • No caffeine after noon*

    • Make sure you’ve left the house at least once today

    • 1 beer or red wine around 8pm, and turn off all screens until tomorrow

    • Feeling drowsy by 9 or 10, let it happen and fall asleep naturally

    • Wake up every day at 6am with no alarm.

    (Kids wake me up at 6, but on days when they sleep until 7 or when I travel for work, I still wake up at 6am EST with no alarm. Never fails.)

    Also to be fair I’ve been having trouble not drinking coffee in the afternoons. Caffeine so addictive.
