your forgetting the infamous Captain Pugwash, and we all know what pugwash is dont we children? Able Se(a)man, Roger the Cabin Boy. Do you need any more proof? Pirates = Gay. And thats White Sauce they're sipping not custard, and custard comes from Devon anyway.
