while i was hoping for NT'ers personal reactions rather than a linking other people's perspectives, at least it is a review from some one who actually saw the movie and critiqued it based on what was on the screen rather than speculation about Mel & Company.
One comment though... to be fair to Mel and the historicity of the scourging and flogging, JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) wrote an cover story/article on the medical nature of the crucifixion back in the day (i actually researched the whole article in college) and spoke of the scene. Looks like the film is closer to the medical and historical evidence than Andrew Sullivan's interpretation of the events.
