Here's the problem for Israel...they've done a great job winning over Western right-wingers and some people in the middle but they're losing everyone else. The fact that Douglas Murray is who they promote as spokesman for their cause is a perfect example.

The current actions in Gaza, bombing hospitals and refugee camps, might make sense to Israelis traumatized by the attacks but this is disastrous in terms of global public opinion.

There are 25 million Jews in the world and two billion Muslims. Those Muslims mostly have smartphones now and are getting a daily update of all the atrocities being committed. The idea that you wouldn't factor this in is incredibly stupid -- it's also what Hamas wanted.

The attacks on mainstream Western media outlets like the NYT and AP...implying they were complicit somehow in the attacks...and mocking people who support the Palestinians are especially counterproductive.

So is spreading racist conspiracy theories about American politicians. You're basically just spitting in the face of the same people who fund Israel and stand up for them at the UN.

    • Consider that you may be mistaken and that this conflict is much more complex than you're lead to believe.IRNlun6
    • I didn't say it wasn't complex. But you can't assume everyone agrees with your worldview.yuekit
    • Israel or Jews as a community are like adults who have unresolved childhood trauma and keep repeating the same patterns that cause them more troubleBeeswax
    • This stems from the"Exclusivity" that they design for themselves, dont get me wrong all religious groups have this delusion but Jews really poke that in the eyeBeeswax
    • they are really creating their reality in a sense by feeding hatred out of this and then reaping the results, then become traumatised again and rinse & repeatBeeswax
    • Those who dwell in fear will inevitably falter. Germans were so traumatised after WWI that, that fear put Hitler on the throne.Beeswax
    • Not assuming. We're just past a month of this renewed conflict and many have firmly picked a side. Have already decided what's to be believed or dismissed.IRNlun6
    • We don't have to dig too deep in the Ukraine thread for to see much of what's published in the press is either misinformation or wishful thinking.IRNlun6
    • I find too many people are dismissive of the threat of Islamic extremism which has impacted a considerable amount of countries around the world.IRNlun6
    • A fear of mine is we'll see renewed terror attacks while countries tear each other apart trying to blame their political adversaries.IRNlun6
    • It's one thing to defend Palestinian civilians. It's a whole other problem to adopt the speech and symbolism of terrorist organizations.IRNlun6
    • I see fucking college students down the street from me chanting "from the river to the sea."IRNlun6
    • I agree about the threat of terror attacks and also the left's naive view in some cases. But the same holds true for hardcore Israel supporters.yuekit
    • Basically I see the two sides locked in a downward spiral of senseless violence at this point. People are horrified by the recent attacks.. but then support theyuekit
    • policy that will almost certainly lead to another attack in the future.yuekit
    • It's not my intention to blame or single you out yuekit. I apologize for doing so in my original comment.IRNlun6

    • Definitely not supporting Hamas. It's strange how many people seem oblivious to the fact that their actions triggered all this death and destruction.yuekit
    • However Israel's 100 proof response is delivering exactly what Hamas wanted. It will make the normalization you mentioned impossible in the near term.yuekit
    • Who's responsibility is it to ensure that protesting in good faith is also not supporting terror groups?IRNlun6
