My wife was headed to Liverpool with my son the other day and she'd said there was a diversion from Princes St because there had been an incident overnight.
She'd thought it was a stabbing but I was chatting to my mum this evening and it turned out it was a drunk kid who tried to climb over the fence into Princes St Gardens but slipped on the ornate spiked fence that surrounds it, usually it's claimed a few feet, but the boy slipped and it went through his chin and into his skull then he bled to death.
Mad that a moment of drunken fun ended his life so instantly.
Not that long ago my mates son and his pals had done the same jumping the fence for a laugh, but one of the guys punctured his foot and luckily wasn't that badly injured after a trip to A&E.

    • Kids are kids, and they need to have these "experiences"... Now, we're in the parenting side, and it's a daily suffering. Very sorry for this kid's family :(OBBTKN

    • Poor kid :( I ripped my hand open on a spike like that when I was 15, almost lost a pinkie. Just looking at those fences gives me the heebie jeebies now.BuddhaHat
    • yep Buddha, done similar too on those 3 spike fence on the railways. One slip and I'd have had a comedy guts spill. too old to be doing that now, hehe.PhanLo
