Just landed a project with a decent fee and a lovely team of people to work with.
I have absolutely no fucking idea at all what they want me to do, and just now was our third meeting on the subject.
I have professional dementia, or at least the modern world of work forces me to feel that way. I just sit there thinking "What the actual fuck is anybody here talking about?"
I am to use my keen vocational capabilities to identify a set of 'opportunity areas' for conveying information, in an extremely restrictive and rules bound mega-niche of b2b communication. Literally there is but one way to convey information in this space.
To help me along the way I've been sent about twenty 100 slide presentations, already done by other practitioners recently, exploring the exact same thing.
But this is increasingly what my world is about. It's an absurd situation where no research ever seems to be enough research, so I am provided with research to research in order to provide research findings to add to the research findings.
If they weren't offering to pay me for this I'd be saying, in a noticeably irritated tone "why don't you just look at the fucking research you already did yourselves, and leave me the fuck alone"
But that don't pay the bills.
- Replace 'mega-niche' with 'ultra-niche'Horp
- With all this pre-work, ChatGPT-4 can do like 80% of this project for you. (Actually probably 99% of the time-consuming busywork)********
