I picked up this huge, framed limited edition signed print at the weekend. It's already hanging in my studio and is the artwork for Robert Wyatt's album Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard painted by his wife Alfie.
Thing is that this is the first time I have ever inherited things from a friend who recently passed away. He left me all his records, mostly Pink Floyd, Gong etc and hundreds of CD's including all the Krautrock a man can handle. It still feels weird as I have never inherited anything before, even my dad never left me anything 20 years ago, but it still feels weird having all this guys stuff in my house and he really loved the maddest of music. I'll not part with the picture though as it will always remind me of him but I may redistribute his CD's amongst my friends as I already have too many of them to be honest.
I dread the thought of my mum passing as she has so much stuff I probably have to rent a storage unit to put it all in and then worry about what to do with it all, ironic really as the book I'm reading at the moment is called The Joy of Less.

    • That's a really cool painting. As much as Krautrock inspires me, I'm not sure I could listen to it all the time. Dude must have really loved you.PhanLo
    • He was very poorly for many years, I took him to football matches and gigs though when I lived down south.Gardener
