Is part of the all great religions self-dividing perpetuated nature. Like Islam, Chrisitianity restores it's radicality by forcing the other. Each denomination or splinter group claims the "truth" over the more established denominations giving the followers something to feel apart of. Let's face it, Christian's sado-masochistic nature makes them feel more intune with thier beliefs if they're being persecuted for their faith.
