Sounds cynical. Complaining about a battery pack.

In uni we'd do class projects, create video installations using flash or director (yea that long ago) - super rudimentary motion tracking + projection mapping stuff. It blew our minds on where the future was going and not once did we complain about the bulky G4 towers, the shitty 480p cameras and projectors, and everything cabled together.

Sometimes I gotta throwback and remember what it was like back then to enjoy gadgets and crazy new tech...

Sucks that the apple goggles are insanely expensive, but it's also cool to see one of the worlds biggest companies do something so nerdy.

Also on the price, it'll come down in a few years. But not sure by how much, as it makes sense considering it's a full blown M2 computer + the lenses, sensors, cameras and high-res 4k screens in one.

    • I would hazard a guess that the required hardware will reduce as the software improves. A bit like how Tesla removed radar, and went to a visual system.slappy
    • They will always be silly expensive, but it's a luxury brand. There will be an android version along in a minute and or a consumer ms hololens.slappy
    • Maybe we don't need to be stuck in a VR/AR headset for more than two hours at a time. Can you plug it into the mains?Ianbolton
