    NEW SHOES DAY TODAY.

I've been softly-scanning for some summer sneakers for a few weeks now, but I haven't liked anything I've seen in my locality. Heck, I even tried looking second hand for inspiration. Nothing. I don't like buying clothes or shoes online., unless I know exactly what they are.

I popped into Sports Direct (much loathed temple to chavdom here in Blighty) and saw a pair that didn't in any way offend me, but are completely dull. But, I really need new shoes because my other sneakers are all broken, and so here we are.

My first pair of DCs in like 18 years.

    Dad DCs.

Oh, and they were £32. Get in.

    • The two blues here look less distinct on mine. They're still dull though.

I see now how people give up.

    • Where are they made? Is it real leather or polyester?shapesalad
    • Leather? Where? For £16 a shoe?

      Get away.
      Nairn
    • It has an 80% recycled lining, or so the wee tags told me. At the end of their life, they will be burned in the great furnace and made into 'leccy for londonersNairn
    • For the duration of their existence, their wear and tear will represent an addition to micro-plastic poisoning of the biosphere.
      Perhaps you have a point.

    • Thank you for utterly deflating NEW SHOES DAY, ss.Nairn
    • Moron that I am, I just interpreted them as 'canvas' so assumed them to be .. well not entirely synthetic. Bollocks.Nairn
    • Sweet gummiesslappy
    • Not even a month in and these pieces of shit are already worn down internally and on the sole. That'll learn me.Nairn
    • Like literally, three days 'til a month and the front of the sole is about 2mm down and the inside heel is worn down. pssht. Still, £16 a shoe...?Nairn
    • For some reason, each shoe has developed a 'nub' right at the base of my heel. So I've removed them and cut leather heel inserts. Signs your getting old.Nairn
    • How you gettin on with theses Nairn?robthelad
    • I'm wearing them now. Had to make a leather insole as insides wore down. Soles feel like they've got about 3mm of thickness left in parts. Not good. <3½ Months.Nairn
    • I actually didn't realise just how thin the soles had gotten, so thanks for making me realise :\Nairn
