quarter past six.
my partner phoned up in a panic, demanding to know wtf i'd not picked my daughter up from the nursery at six. I'm sat there at work just doing my thing.
I think back and realise I've not technically agreed anything with her - instead, simply assumed that because i left home late this morning so's she could Do Her Thang, that would mean I could stay a bit later.
So she's going off at me and I'm mortified, with a cold spasm running through me, despite.. not thinking I'm particularly at fault, because context-applied.. but still, doubt.. and I'm remonstrating with her because Blind Panic as i've failed my family (maybe?) and tens of seconds of this shit goes on and I'm just like "Hold on. You've got to be fucking kidding me, right?!"
And so she laughs, puts the phone down to my daughter who's just being a giddy asshole in the park and er' indoors is just being a real fucking twat.
So she responds with the couple of times I've played the same sort of trick with her - but here's the thing.. I let that go on for two sentences. "Oh, I thought it was YOUR turn?!". 'oh hahaha' etc Ten seconds tops. I mean, eight, if we're being literal. NOT FUCKING A NEAR MINUTE, YOU PSYCHOPATH.
I love my partner, but she's got a really poor sense of timing. Or maybe she doesn't.
