apple really don't seem to give a shit about detail these days.
the wife just bought herself a new ipad and so i've had to come to terms with the pos that is ios16.

my main gripe today is that the error messages are misleading - trying to understand what apple mail's whines and complaints really referred to meant heading to the internet to see if others have had the same issue and then finding out what the real problem is. eg "please enter a password" when a password has been entered; or "mail can't be sent because sender does not exist".

then the ipad suddenly became "unavailable" for no apparent reason. on further research all the official advice is to wipe it and start again!!!! yay we've just spent ages adding in all her various accounts and passwords and now we're supposed to just nuke everything and start from scratch??? Because of course it hasn't yet had a chance to back up to icloud....

in their desperation to add useless "noo feechurs" and shitty bloatware that no-one really needs, these fuckers have totally forgotten the average users.

of course this applies to all techbros, not just apple, but back in the day apple used to be a little more clever and thoughtful.
