@Chimp you're such an expert, what does 'excess deaths' means?
I'm not asking about excess mortality.

    • definition, history, factors, how is it measured, references, and link some academic research, please.sted
    • the excess deaths could be coming from the fact that for 1.5 years nobody when to hospital for check ups, operations were delayed etc etc...shapesalad
    • From the UK ONS https://www.ons.gov.…Morning_star
    • those are the factors for excess mortality like the fact that we all lived in a much more sterile environment which is so say not good for the immune system.sted
    • or like the less contact with the environment, muscle degradation, and psychological problems arising from isolationsted
    • That link doesn't work, sorry.Morning_star
    • Here you go tinyurl.com/4v2ckhmfMorning_star
    • @Morning_star 404. you can find links that use this term for the average citizen. this makes it distinguishable at what level we are talking about the subjectsted

Christ i'm shit at the internets.

    • see the wording at the definition:
"The term excess deaths in this article" _in this article_ :)

    • Wasn't disagreeing with you, just supplying some government stats.Morning_star
    • nah all good, we know internets :D its just most of these articles are made for the public.sted
    • and it is defined differently everywhere because it is not an exact concept.sted
    • "Lies, damn lies and statistics" ;)Morning_star
    • In the USA excess deaths = difference between the expected number (based on average of previous years) and actual number.yuekit
    • https://www.cdc.gov/…yuekit
    • ^ But what you can see is that the spikes in excess deaths happen at the same time as COVID outbreaks.yuekit
    • Before anyone had ever taken the vaccine in mid 2020, there was a spike in excess deaths.yuekit
    • What the fuck is up with California? even without Covid deaths.Morning_star
    • aye reading limitations in that article should be essential to everybody who is interested in this. dec 14 global:

    • ^ 404 bud ;)Morning_star
    • This is also interesting, deaths from heart disease among young people.
      https://twitter.com/…
      yuekit
    • It did go up during the pandemic but the increase started in early 2020, not when the vaccine was rolled out.yuekit
    • In fact deaths from heart disease among people under 40 plateaued and then declined after the vaccine was introduced.yuekit
    • ahahha the internets doesn't want that either :D here is it: https://tinyurl.com/…sted
    • There was a 19% increase in heart problems for 45 to 49 year olds in 2021. I wouldn’t call that a plateau.Chimp
    • If you're going to say something is true, it needs to be consistent with all the evidence. You don't prove something by picking out isolated stats and anecdotesyuekit
    • So if the vaccines caused heart disease deaths among young people, why did heart disease deaths go down after the vaccines were rolled out?yuekit
    • Why do counties in the USA that have a lower vaccination rate have more excess deaths?yuekit
