For unknown reasons, US snack products are a thing in Denmark (maybe just Copenhagen), and because of import taxes on things like sugar, they sell for ridiculous prices.

1 regular bag of Cheetos: $8,50
1 regular bag of Funyuns: $6,50
1 small bag of Takis: $5,00
1 can of US soda: $3,50

And yes, people buy them for some reason.

I very, very occasionally buy the soda flavors we don't get here, I admit. Cream soda, Vanilla Coke and Fanta variants like grape are favorites.

    • Are you seriously telling us that you're paying three and half dollars for a can containing dirty water with sugar?OBBTKN
    • Haha, yes. Very occasionally :)

    • He means US Imports - the same has become popular here in London with cornershops selling poorer-quality US shit at vastly higher rates.Nairn
    • The only reason I've paid attention to this is I keep an eye out for sodas that don't have fucking artificial sweeteners, BUT US stuff is HFCS-laden shite.Nairn
    • @Beeswax the candy/soda smuggling was an actual thing like 10 years ago. There was a huge crackdown. It is no more. You're too late ;Djagara
    • isn't US soda allowed to use corn syrup instead of regular sugar. which is like really really bad?uan
