No, it doesn't, sadly. Frankly, I loathe the Affinity workflow 'philosophy'.

I saw a question elsewhere about a really simple thing the poster needed doing in Affinity - expanding the outline of an astandard shape to make it thicker, then having the outer thickness as the stroke. Super simply in Illy (Click object, Offset Path, done - I do it so much, I have it shortcutted), but I thought "Heck, I can do that in Designer and it'll force me to learn it a little..". Ha. Nope. After about 10 minutes I sacked it off, swearing at the interface. I'm sure it's super simple (surely? It's a super basic function), but I couldn't see it.

I've forced myself to suffer Affinity Photo, but Im very close to digging out an old copy of Photoshop as Affinity drives me nuts - like, some of the things it doesn't just aren't immediate, and so my flow gets borked when I'm wquestioning whether i've actually done the thing I'm waiting to do the next step on. Frustrating.

    • Also - HOW THE FUCK do you do multiple marquee selections in Photo?! You can do a boolean subtraction from a marquee selection, but not addition?!Nairn
    • Sorry to say this but are you sure you know your workflows well enough?

Or maybe that "old dog, new tricks" situation...

    • oddly i don't miss photoshop at all. photo does all ineed, better and faster.hans_glib
    • in answer to your questine, it's a bt clunky but at the top of the window there are some buttons to select: https://imgur.com/a/…hans_glib
    • Oh another jewel of insight from grafician - clearly I don't as I don't use those software, but they're opaque and clunky, which is my complaint.Nairn
    • No their not. As proven by my posts in reply to your questions.

You're just an old dog with no patience for new tricks buddy.

    • Btw it took me about half-hour to learn how to use Figma at first try, so yeah...grafician
    • 'as proven' says the person who uses his own arrogance as evidence of.. something.Nairn
    • I just tried to help you out buddy. Don't blame the software if you don't take the time to learn it first ;)grafician
    • Or you know stick to what you know and forget learning new apps if that's the case, instead of complaining you don't know how to use themgrafician
    • Anyway, you're welcome ;)grafician
    • You can learn at all ages. Just go into things more opened minded.shapesalad
    • And be prepared to fail/make mistakes and learn from them. As you did years ago, when you first learnt some design softwares.shapesalad
    • I learn other things. I just need Illy and PS to do the basic shit I've lightspeed muscle memory programmed in to for, from over 25 years of usage.Nairn
    • I bought Affinity to a) support them, b) get rid of PS (a mistake) and c) support clients who i've recommended buy Designer. I fail a bit at the latter... .Nairn
    • Designer is anyway useless to me as it doesn't support stroke thicknesses that are compatible with laser cutting directly. Which, given what I do... .Nairn
    • What a fucking condescending asshole.monospaced
    • Shapesalad, or grafician? ;)Nairn
