iPhone 14 Pro is the most ridiculous name for a product
A phone for... pros? Do they mean like influencers? Professional tiktokers? People who answer support calls in a WFH setting? 911 operators? Who are these phone professionals?
Nah, the Pro comes from MacBook Pro which made sense at the time. Pros for people doing professional creative work. And the i comes from iMac, right? That was the first mac with internet sorta built in?
So, two of four parts of this name are just carried over from other products and have no relevance to the product. The two parts are “Phone” (like duh, but who uses the phone app anymore, maybe your elderly parents) and then “14”. 14? Lol.
So, ok, products have dumb names. But come on, this Apple company is treated like marketing gods and for... this?
- Maybe they’re marketing gods because they’ve managed to make a product called iPhone 14 Pro one of the most desired products in its categorynb
- Definitely they should simplify the product line, focus and only go with iProduct and iProduct Prografician
