- i'm currently experimenting with doing my own curing/air drying. just need to find a way to keep all the cats and foxes (and probably rats) away while it dries.hans_glib
- At the most basic level, all you really need is a fridge modded for additional ventilation. That should keep curious critters from getting to the good stuff.Continuity

- @continuity: yes i know, but i thought it'd be more fun to try it the old fashioned way. i found a supermarket delivery cage in the street so...hans_glib
- it seemed rude not to grab it give it a go. it'll do to keep out the large animals, but the rats... not so sure.hans_glib
- @hans - maybe the stuff I had wasn't good (certainly the rest of the fayre wasn't amazing) but I found it incredibly dry, bony and meatless.Nairn
- only the breast are worthwhile unless you like sucking bones (which i do). and yes it needs to be stewed ideally, or else it can be very dry.hans_glib
- i'm guessing the stuff pictured is squab pigeon, larger and vey posh - far removed from yer common or garden wood pigeonhans_glib
