Bog standard sofa:
Tonnes of volume to it's shape, big bulky thing, curvy and overly cushioned, can't see the legs, has material and padding all the way to the floor. Using more materials that Designer sofa.
= Cheap.

Designer sofa:
Minimal design, small elegant feet lift it off the floor and create air around it, simple non curvy design. No excess material use.
= Costs a fortune.
