Fucking tired of attempting to put music mixes on Youtube. I understand completely that copyrighted material can't be monetized, but if the music already exists on YT (and very often not uploaded by the artist itself), why the fuck do I have to get blocked?

    • YouTube is like that old guy who says DJs aren’t real music. “I like people who write their own song”
      ********
    • the publishers get the money if it's on somebody else's channel and they get flagged but have enough followers.uan
    • looks like the soundcloud scene works for djs to have fun and share mixes. nerd out and stuff.uan
    • It’s because you are putting your name on it. Has nothing to do with it existing already.monospaced
    • Imagine an AI DJ that gathers the data/music taste/spotify shit from the crowd and tailors the best set for them on the spot
      ********
    • what a clusterfuck that set wwould bejagara
    • You're imagining it all wrong

    • I noticed that YT will flag some content and not others. They have some kind of automated system for detecting copyrighted content but it'syuekit
    • not covering all or even most music. So probably when uploading a mix there's some song in the mix that triggers thisyuekit
    • Actually, you get a detailed list of all detected tracks. A few can be shown and monetized, some shown but not monetized, and some cannot be shown.jagara
    • I wonder how much you would need to alter a track before the system gets confused and no longer recognizes ityuekit
