I suppose the questions are - how long are you here for, what sort of family do you have, what sort of things do you like to do? Also, whereabouts are you staying? If you're in town, everywhere's easy enough to get to - but if you're staying out in ths ticks, you'd best consider your journey times.

    • Obvious ones to start off, if you have kids, are The Natural History and Science Museums. Not sure if they're too obvious as suggestions...Nairn
    • ..but iof they are, make a day of it and go visit the V&A too - they're all in spitting distance of one another out in South KensingtonNairn
    • The British Museum is good for seeing things like mummies. That stuff fascinated me when I was a kid.Chimp
    • Planetarium in the Royal Observatory was on my listCalderone2000
    • As was the science museum!Calderone2000
    • If you go to the British Museum, you could pop across the road and check out traditional art store, L.Cornelissen & SonNairn
    • I'm sure there was another one around there too (not Russell & Chapple which is also nearby) which was also worth a peek, but I can't think what it isNairn
    • You could also walk 10 mins and a few blocks and take a tour around the Freemason's Hall (main masonic lodge)
