As reported in Newsweek, a recent Politico poll suggests that the overturning of Roe v Wade is NOT motivating women to show up to vote. However, I didn’t see anything about “new” voters, so the numbers may be off. Also, they didn’t report on men. On the other hand, they reported an increase in republican women being excited to vote.
Still. Here’s the thing. All the social media posts and online outrage is almost entirely going to your friends and followers. We’re all preaching to our own little choirs.
The only thing that will change this country is if each person goes out and convinces two people —who otherwise wouldn’t vote —to vote democrat.
This is nearly impossible. Most of us want to talk to our friends and hang out in online communities where everyone agrees with us. We need to go out and talk to people that we don’t know, or we don’t like, or we don’t respect.
But you only need to get two or three people. If you can find a republican in a swing state and swing them back, do it. Put all your energy into that. Posting online is useless noise.
