    The reality however is this...

66% of Americans wanted to keep Roe, 34% wanted it overturned.

In 2020 47% of Americans said they belonged to a church, down from 70% in 1999.

Religion is in decline in America and what this decision actually represented was the victory of an extremist minority who managed to capture the Supreme Court thanks to their alliance with the GOP.

    • Your facts are true, but the Supreme Court did not mention religion. They overturned this entirely based on legal opinion, not religious opinion.nb
    • So, like, I’m with you, but we all need to accept that your argument is valid but it will never achieve the goal of getting women their rights backnb
    • @nb, they don’t mention religion but that is undeniably the motivating force behind the entire thing. No question at allmonospaced
    • Religion itself is a huge party line indicator. Far right thinking is inseparable from extreme Christian rhetoric. The two go hand im hand.monospaced
    • Ok but if you make that argument they will simply point to the SC written opinion and you lose the debate.nb
    • We have to fight smarter than that.nb
    • 60-70% of Americans were against overturning Roe, so who are we trying to convince? It's more about calling out the people who did this...yuekit
    • The GOP has had a decades-long project to stack the court with right-wing extremists. They did this largely to get evangelical Christians to vote for them.yuekit
    • Earlier Supreme Courts reaffirmed Roe, only this extreme SC packed with religious fundamentalists was willing to overturn it.yuekit
    • Exactly. I lose no debate. It isn’t a debate. The SC has a Christian stance that is not welcome or allowed.monospaced
