A journalist working in China tried to investigate the origin of COVID-19...this one guy, a freelance reporter for Al Jazeera and Bloomberg, has turned up more useful info than pretty much anyone else looking into this.

With everyone focused on the "lab leak"...did it happen or not...they missed the fact that animals known to carry SARS viruses were strangely disappeared from the Huanan Market where the outbreak started and never tested, never mentioned in the WHO report on the origins.

The official line from China is that "no live mammals were sold at the market" in spite of there being pictures showing exactly that, and it being documented in a report that came out later.

As he talks about in this thread, the reporter, Michael Standaert, uncovered something even more interesting...it turns out the Wuhan animal markets were owned by powerful people in China, including a business partner of Xi Jinping's family.

But after trying to investigate, he got threatened by Chinese authorities, had his license suspended and eventually left the country.
