Well stop me from bouncing on the furniture, I thoroughly enjoyed Top Gun Maverick.

Although big and daft and with plenty of nostalgia, effort's clearly been wrap all that in a decent story. It's a really well made popcorn blockbuster rather than another cynical remix or dollop of content. eg. we don't lose an hour to the origin story of Maverick's Aviators.

It seemed to reference lots of classic action movies and the aerial scenes are fucking outstanding. If you're in any way keen, see it on a massive screen.

    • Cruise is great

    • he is indeed and after watching this I still can't believe he's 60 next yearMrT
    • Still need to see it but something that irks me is why is Goose son spotting the exact same look and moustache as his dad? Strange.NBQ00
    • Miles Teller who plays him is great, but yeah that’s a bit clunky as are other bits. None spoil the fun though!MrT
    • You’ve never seen a son that grew up to look like and copy his dad?

    • You mean even the haircut and moustache to sport the exact identical look? Aside from the profession of course.NBQ00
    • I know men that dress like their dads did at the time. Their dads dress entirely different now of course

    • Don't worry guys, the opening credits are set in Serpentine. It'll all be fine.MrT
    • TG Maverick was great. TG1 does have a better story and character development and of course one of the most iconic soundtracks in movie history.NBQ00
