Something I have never heard pro gun people explain...if the Second Amendment means no regulation of "arms" at all then where does this end? Does it mean Americans can openly walk around with Javelins and NLAWS like in Ukraine? Should anyone be allowed to walk to the store and buy weapons that can shoot down a small aircraft like Al Qaeda? How about chemical weapons, nuclear weapons...

The Second Amendment doesn't clarify any of this, it just says "a well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." At the time the most powerful weapon available to the average person were guns that were extremely primitive by today's standards.

As far as I'm aware none of the so-called experts on the Supreme Court have ever articulated any clear reason why some arms can be banned and others can't. One thing you would have to conclude is that the "founding fathers" were not exactly geniuses if they couldn't write this amendment more clearly, also they capitalize random words like a bad PR writer.

    • I think most of the idiots don't make it past 'the right to keep and bear arms', wilfully or otherwise.BuddhaHat
    • Biggest idiots think it’s a religious text and that it’s a god given right. The stupid is overwhelming.monospaced
