H'any you cunts played with 'Long Pepper'?

Saw some in a shop earlier, looked into it online subsequently, now going to buy some.

    Any hints/tips?

    • looks like it'd go well with roasted insectsNairn
    • interesting : Round, or black, pepper began to compete with long pepper in Europe from the twelfth century and had displaced it by the fourteenth.Ianbolton
    • I want some as i'd never heard of it until now.Ianbolton
    • I’be been passively interested for a while. Got a good source?scarabin
    • How does one grind it? Microplane? Spice grinder? Surely, no standard pepper mill would be fit for purpose with this.Continuity
    • I imagine you could crush them in a bag then pop ‘em into any pepper grinder. Or just do a couple pulses in an electric coffee grinderscarabin
    • So I forgot I wasn't going past this shop for a week, so have only just bought some. More interesting than amazing. Peppercons are 'better'. Taste profile isNairn
    • Cinnamon, then an almost schezuan-pepper like heat that is quite pure, but doesn't really have any depth, anf then a low peppercorn taste.Nairn
    • Will try cooking with them - so far I've only eaten them raw and crunchy, walking down the street like someone with very particular emotional problems.Nairn
