This makes sense.
If I buy twitter for $44B, I can maybe adjust the “knobs” to lean towards the political outcomes I want. Namely, we can get more congressmen who support lower taxes on big tech innovation companies and the mega rich.
Tesla annual revenue: at least $50B and growing. This year might be $100B. In ten years could be $500B.
Musk net worth: $290B
So let’s say I buy twitter for $44B and over time I can control the sentiment on Twitter ever so slightly to affect tax rates in my favor. Maybe I get corporate tax rates down by 2% or 3%.
Just two or three percent! Twitter pays for itself in a few years. Over ten or twenty years, it’s a windfall.
Oh but wait! I can’t just do whatever I want with twitter, there’s a board and shareholders and.... can I take it private?
- Yeah remains to be seen if you can really control sentiment on Twitter so much. Was just pointing out that when Elon says left has gone crazy, he's probablyyuekit
- referring to this, not social issues people assume. After all Elon Musk is a pretty liberal guy, he microdosing LSD in his mansion with Grimes all day.yuekit
- Yes but he obviously loves money.********
- I would note that you don’t need to that much of an influence over twitter to get a few more ultra right tax congressman elected.********
- Politics in America is generally close. And because you don’t care what state they’re in, you influence whoever you can.********
- It definitely gives him more influence. For billionaires the #1 policy issue is remaining a billionaire.yuekit
- microdosing or not ... you can still be totaly far off... bro lives beneath the poverty line..neverscared
- u don´t have to be liberal to boot up psychoactive drugs..around here far rightwinger convervatives do it too...neverscared
