boggles my mind how horny americans are / continue to be for war. but this is great,

"As the war between Russia and Ukraine nears 60 days of fighting, with no signs of a ceasefire and Russian troops continuing to bombard key Ukrainian cities, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has informed the World Bank forum that Ukraine needs $7 billion (over Rs 53,423 crore) a month to function amid the devastating "economic losses" caused due to the military offensive ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24.

Zelenskyy's comments come after US President Joe Biden on Thursday announced that the US would provide $500 million in direct economic assistance to Ukraine. While addressing the leaders of the World Bank and IMF via virtual conference, Zelenskyy stated that Russian forces are aimed at destroying all objects in Ukraine that can serve as an economic base for life."

$500m cash on top of $800m in weapons to a non-nato member with far-right political affiliations for a war caused by nato.

sure putin is a motherfucker but people in the us would go into hysterics if china started setting up alliances a military bases with south american countries we've coup'd in the past. this all reeks of people wanting some kind of revenge for not understanding why 2016 went to trump and still blame russia for it.

    • Honestly, I haven't spoken to one American that is for the war, and or wants to continue the war...this includes both my Ukrainian and Russian friends.utopian
    • “War caused by nato” oh no here comes the Putin-understanders that use the NATO membership expansion as an excuse.NBQ00
    • “With far right political affiliations” Please dude why do you post this BS? Straight from pro-RU propaganda that states all Ukraine is fascist and nazis?NBQ00
    • And nobody is really for this war unless you’re a war-monger but I also don’t want Russia to get away with this and all their war crimes.NBQ00
    • Russia is the side that is more aligned with the far right and exporting fascism around the world.yuekit

    • And as far as why the war happened, Russia has said many times they don't regard Ukraine as a real country. What does that have to do with USA or NATO?yuekit
    • Consider this article (written by socialist union organizer) about how some leftists fall into the trap of rooting for authoritarian states.yuekit
    • https://socialistfor…yuekit
    • These leftist tend to view the USA as the only actor in the world, as if local issues don't exist. It's actually an embarrassingly America-centric view.yuekit
    • i dont quite understand what colin's argument is.pango
    • I think he’s trying to saying the USA would do the same if Mexico was entering into a military alliance with China. Still isn’t an excuse for what is happening.Chimp
    • He seems to be buying into the narrative that the situation was mostly created by USA, ignoring basic history of the region where Russia has invaded smalleryuekit
    • countries multiple times, tried to assassinate their leaders etc.yuekit
    • lol refreshed arguments from 2 months ago.
@colin_s this what you wrote is more or less bullshit. discussed here like a hundred times... with same outcome.
      ********
    • Reminder: colin_s’s definition of the right-left spectrum (what is far left and far right) is different than commonly agreed upon range
      ********
    • who defined this 'agreed range' and is it written down somewhere? Like on the back of a fag packet or do you get it free with every box of Rice Krispies?face_melter
    • or is it, as I suspect, more lib rULeS BASed OrdEr horseshit?face_melter
    • Well said. Some people want to continue to deny the senseless provocations that have led to this situation. And instead fall back on moronic WW2 analogies.Khurram
    • dumbest take on the situation yet. ukraine should be free to decide what it wants to do. it’s people have spoken. russia is out of line. i say this as a russianscruffics
    • Left-right is fluid and changes with culture and means different things in different cultures. It’s not strict but there is a common understanding
      ********
    • Regardless of how people are attempting to solve it, all blame goes to Russia.cannonball1978
    • alright Colin you go and talk with Putin to stop the invasion, we’ll waiternexbcn
