this looks interesting, if I'm reading this correctly, if you have an older 5k retina imac, you can use it as a display

no need to dish out all that cash on a studio display if you don't have to.
Not sure how or if this works with m1 chips but I don't see why not.

- The article is clear this was only for iMacs made a decade ago. Hasn’t been an option for at least 8 years.monospaced
- The source mac must be from before 2019 and the iMac display must run sierra or earlier. Apple basically killed this in 2014.monospaced
