Been using the Studio Display for one day.
User review:
• Resolution is perfect, lovely.
• I forgot how glossy Apple displays are. I’ll get used to it but damn. I wish I could convince myself to drop the extra cash on the less-glossy one. I can’t.
• Sound quality is much better than I expected. And loud! Will not replace a good stereo but is better than some $50 ugly AF computer speakers.
• I can’t figure out how to make Center Stage work in Zoom. I think it may not be supported yet? (I’m using a 16inch MBP, closed)
• Slippery base. I can’t tilt this thing without holding the base or it slides all around. Weird.
• Camera is garbage. Potato quality. Total shit. Also it’s so fucking wide angle it’s ridiculous. Maybe the point is so that you can have groups of people on a call together? Who would ever do that? 100% of the time you use the webcam, you’re sitting in front of the screen. Why must I show off the entire room I’m in.
• Mic is really good. (Most MacBook Pro mics are actually really good, too. This is a bit better.)
- Why not get an Eizo monitor and external mic?********
- iMac 2014 that I have has the same camera issue, so wide angle it shows the entire room, drives me nuts_niko
