According to the Russians, 498 people have been died so far on their side.
According to the Ukrainians, the Russian army already has more than five thousand dead.
Alexei Arestovich, a military adviser to President Zelensky, said this on TV. He claims hundreds of Russian soldiers have been captured, including senior officers. He also claimed that one of the commanders of the Russian army had been transported to Belarus for treatment after being seriously injured. The AFP also published pictures of Russian prisoners of war, which the Ukrainians presented at a press conference:

- Parading POWs is violation if the Geneva Convention.********
- this isn't parading.********
- you see them cheering?
you see them marching on the street?******** - I think invading another country and killing civilians might be against the Geneva Convention.Chimp
- you see 2 pow officers and you can meditate about the numbers in their units and the reported dead by the rassans...********
- "Prisoners of war must not be paraded through the streets to be taunted or tormented by hostile crowds" vs they gave them a feckin press conference lolkingsteven
- they look like they could be there voluntarilyscruffics
- @kingsteven proof that they are still alive eh********
- Geneva Convention?
More like Geneva suggestion******** - Paraded infront of cameras, eh. There's a very literal/ obtuse level of discourse on this site. Odd for folks with a supposed creative mindset.********
- I had in mind the press conferences with *blinking* shot down pilots in the Korean and Viet Nam wars********
- But by all means. take parading to mean folk marching like it's July 12th.********
- it's not that it's not a breach that makes it laughable, it's the idea that you could judge letting PoWs speak freely on TV (not state released imagery) andkingsteven
- public intimidation of PoWs as a breach under the same rules.kingsteven
- @Brabo_Brabo be a man and go to the front line and fight on the side you want. lets see how much are you going to care about these things when you come back.********
- the fuck is your point with this anyways?********
- pulling up a technicality in the hope of people arguing that the russian troops don't deserve human rights and then saying we're literal/ obtuse for saying he'skingsteven
- being literal/ obtusekingsteven
- I cant parse you point here.********
- Filming POWS isnt a technicality.********
- it is something you have attributed to the rule on parading troops. that is not what ukraine forces would be in violation of. it would be article 13 whichkingsteven
- relates to torture and to a lesser degree their humane treatment.kingsteven
- Parading POWs is violation if the Geneva Convention.
