    So much focus on Putin, I wonder if it is letting the other 144 million people in Russia off the hook too easily?

    Yes it's an authoritarian state but ultimately this is being done in their name. And when you think about what will actually bring down Putin, it can only be the Russian people themselves. Either a real mass protest (hundreds of thousands rather than what looked like hundreds yesterday) or someone in the power structure taking him out.
