The secondary target of Russia is definitely the US.
The economy is already fragile and now this, billions will be lost in the market today, oil prices going up thus inflation and interests soon.
Trumpists are already blaming Biden for all of this and this will give Trump a stronger support.
A second term Trump would be devastating for the democracy and the established system.
Russia is causing more damage than we see right now.

    • I think we could see the demise of western financial institutions as we begin to realise just how many fingers we had in Russian pies.Ianbolton
    • quite intense fearmorgening

    • @Ianbolton i don't think so, like DB many European financial institutions got rid of the bad apples since 2014. Rassans had to deploy their own banks in some

    • eu countries in order to move money on a higher level.

    • I mean, countries are dependent on Russian oil and gas for example. Fixing/replacing that is going to be difficult. Is that fear mongering?Ianbolton
    • No, Europe can say bye to rassan gas. They are prepared that on all levels in the previous months (well maybe hungary can't lol).

    • Russia supplies a lot more than gas, they have the largest cache of minerals etc used in all our 'stuff'.shapesalad
