My airbrush air compressor took a shit and i want to replace it with a proper shop compressor with a tank since i don’t have one of those and it’d be nice to support pneumatic tools.

My question is, when they’re on, do they make noise the whole time? Or do they fill up the tank with air and then stop? Can i paint off stored air in the tank quietly or will i have to endure constant rattling?

    • Refilling the tank makes the noise. Once the tank is full, the engine motor stops. Recommend building an enclosure around the tank to silence the refill noise.PioneerDJ303
    • ^ +1 - A few engineer and mechanic friends have home workshops with compressors, and they're all located away from the work area, they're quite noisy.BuddhaHat

    • I need to buy a new vacuum compressor. My one suggestion - beware all the penis pump results if searching on eBay.Nairn
