My piping up to my dad that I loved the smell of the cigarette he was smoking, from the back seat in the car.

I don't know why, but the smell of cigarettes was particularly good in a car - at least the first few tokes after lighting.

I remember by dad getting really irritated and prodding out the fag, realising.

Gold Renault 21, driving in Southern Spain on a warm summer's day, likely going to Continente for shopping, ~92-ish.

    • My great uncle smoked a pipe. And I just loved the sweet smell of the freshly lit tobacco when he visited. The ritual of cleaning and repacking the thing...Morning_star
