You ever feel like you can't do your job?
Recently it just feels every project I do, the team just say it's not right. I'm not hitting home runs. And the longer this losing the streak goes on, the worse it's getting as now I'm starting to loose my creative spark and confidence...
I think I'm not in the right job, possibly the right career for me.
Signs you're getting old I guess....

- How do you personally feel about your ideas or solutions ?spl33nidoru
- My ideas for corporate client stock footage edited videos = god it's killing me, I'm not a film maker or editor.shapesalad
- I really miss Flash recently, the prefect mix of disciplines, coding, motion, type, illustration, animation.shapesalad
- Just a shame it all had to be jammed into 40kb, which was a fun challenge, but ended up looking shit.shapesalad
- Sounds like a mix of ur team being more into this kind of jobs, therefore more confident in their taste + you needing to apply yourself to a field you care forspl33nidoru
- It's hard to do a good job on subjects you don't care for unless you're given enough space to grow into it and see how you can sort of make them yoursspl33nidoru
- exactly that. I don't care about all these cheap corporate graphics that exist for a moment in time, soon are dated and discarded, yet sweated over...shapesalad
- ...with endless amends. Fine China in the british museum has lasted for 3000 years and likely was a joy to make.shapesalad
- I just don't have passion to craft a corporate video that is viewed by a few people who will privately think 'I'm sick of seeing fake diversity'...shapesalad
- 'these people all look like wanna be actors and mail order catalogue models, pointing at fake looking documents - what does this have to do with my business?'shapesalad
- 'oh this music is a bit too upbeat for Clive in Operations to handle, his pacemaker will be giddy'.... no motivation or passion for it...shapesalad
- I feel you, bro. I have the same thing. Hopefully this will go away faster than the job.********
- Yeah we're on the same boat. Don't ditch these jobs if you're decently paid but find something you're excited to get back to on the side.spl33nidoru
- Eventually you'll be able to fully switch from one to the other.spl33nidoru
- To make it worse I have three levels of hierarchy above me all giving feedback amends, counter to each other... it's like death by a 1000 paper cuts.shapesalad
- Awww... All of us are in the same boat. Listen to @spl33... If your work is not passionate, look for a side project, now!OBBTKN
- Yeah I launched a side project, but the work work is eating up too much of my good hours and good energy. It's a slow burner till it gets me out 100%shapesalad
- Agree, when it comes to web it’s become so templated and uninspiring unless you’re building $100k websites. Half the time is spent poring over bullshit stock_niko
- so glad to know it's not just me. I'd rather bartend and end 20+ years as a designer at this point.mapleT
- bartend, nice. I'm think baker, or tea merchant would be a dream... would drive a taxi if it wasn't for uber taking the fun out of that.shapesalad
- my recent gigs are all crap - one is on draft 45 - wtf - high rates make me feel like I'm stealing thoughtimeless
