2 out of 5 new infections are Delta!
New cases are rising so fast that now the total hospitalizations have not really dropped. Vaccines along with meeting people outside appear to be the best thing you can do to stay out of the hospital. (Being young is also massively beneficial, but none of us can change our age.)
Deaths are trending downwards ever-so-slightly, but there are still well over 1000 people dying every day in the US. Every 80 seconds or so, another American dies from the virus.
