How are people finding working on the new Macbook Pros? Specifically, is anyone doing any motion or 3D work on them? (After effects, Cinema 4D – editing, animation, 3D rendering, etc.).
The reason I ask is because we're putting together specs and prices for new equipment for our department and with the way we are working coming out of covid (very flexible in terms of location), ideally we want to move to laptops with monitors at our office for the mobility.
It's been a month(ish), so I thought I'd gauge some real world feedback. Are they as good as the reviews are saying? What spec are you running if you are doing motion/3D work?
- still waiting :-|kingsteven
- I posted this review a few pages ago, might help:

- Go for it, they're really fast. You need a threadripper to go faster, and if you have to have a laptop form factor then there's nothing that comes close.zarkonite
- Threadripper and nvidia3k series gpus are ideal, none of which apple has to offer. OctaneX and cycles(?) do work with apple thoughseldon
- Still waiting for rendering to take full advantage of the M architecture like it does for others.monospaced
