don't be so quick to judge... there's actually a good reason someone might want one of these. suppose someone owns a g5 and wants to sell it on ebay. they'd make more on the item if they sell it in the original box.
also, and most importantly, i've learned that under certain circumstances, carriers such as fed ex or ups may not fully insure computer hardware unless it is packaged in the original manufacturers packaging. (helps avoid fraud)
