Humanity probably had a chance to nip this in the bud but we weren't prepared, government exercised autonomy over collaboration and inept politicians made decisions to benefit their careers over the lives of citizens. Meanwhile the charlatans took advantage of the weak-minded folks and sold them all kinds of nonsense while the hawks told us the economy was more important than people.

So anyway, enjoy this new global endemic and getting boosters every year or so for the next 40 years.

Maybe one day we'll learn to act in the interest of all of us. Sadly, not today.
